How can I help with or donate to victims of the High Park Fire… ?

A donation center in Fort Collins is now open to help with relief efforts for those affected by the High Park fire. Larimer County officials opened the Donations Collection Center Monday morning at the Foothills Mall, 215 E. Foothills Parkway, in Fort Collins at the space of the former Mervyns. The center is a partnership between the county and Adventist Community Services Disaster Response. The center is intended for donation drop-off only, and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to a press release by Adventist Community Services Disaster Response.

  • Cash donations will be accepted. Other items requested for donation are:
  • Diapers: adult and baby
  • Wipes
  • Personal hygiene items
  • New packaged underwear
  • Non-perishable foods, but no home-cooked food
  • Animal foods
  • New bedding: sheets, blankets and pillows
  • Laundry and cleaning supplies
  • Large trash cans and trash bags
  • Work gloves, new shovels, rakes
  • N-95 masks

Donated items will be distributed by the center to High Park fire victims starting June 21.The press release asks that no clothing or bottled water be donated. The center is for donations only. Those wishing to volunteer can find more information at www.HelpColoradoNow.org.

Large animals and livestock can be taken to The Ranch also. Small domestic animals can be taken to the Larimer County Humane Society. If you want to help the evacuated animals, you can donate to the Larimer Humane Society online, www.larimerhumane.org.
