Debate and Election etiquette. Need to look at youth sports

Just as Governor Hickenlooper had stated at this years SDA conference the political behavior of our election process and officials has degraded to the level of disgusting at times.

I have been very disappointed in political behavior of both national and local elected officials and candidates.     Imagine the example that is being set for your youth on how a debate is supposed to be conducted as opposed to how they are actually happening on TV.  Talking over each other, running over time, and continually interruptions are just a few of the examples of how NOT to behave.    We have instituted ZERO tolerance in youth sports but not in what could be some of our most important public events.

Another great event in youth sports is the shaking of hands after the contest and congratulating the winner.   This is another page out of the youth sports play book that some of our elected colleagues and officials need to learn, regardless of their age.

We can only hope the civility will be standard in our election process in the future.

This is how government should work at all levels
